Bael (Aegle marmelos) is the fruit of a tropical tree that is prized in Ayurvedic medicine. It is traditionally used to soothe digestion, reduce gas and bloating, and because of its anti‑inflammatory and antimicrobial properties it can aid in healing minor wounds, coughs, and colds. While generally safe when taken in moderate amounts, high doses can irritate the stomach and the fruit may interact with certain medications, so individuals with liver conditions or on prescription drugs should consult a healthcare professional before using large quantities.
